Mondelēz International has announced a major initiative to use plastic sourced from advanced recycling technology for the packaging of its Triscuit Crackers in the U.S. and Canada. This effort supports the company’s commitment to sustainability, with Triscuit contributing to a more circular economy by incorporating up to 50% recycled plastic in its packaging using the ISCC PLUS mass balance approach. This advancement aligns with Mondelēz’s broader goal of achieving 5% recycled plastic content by 2025.

The Triscuit brand, known for its century-long heritage, will now feature more sustainable packaging, with the outer box already made from 100% recycled paperboard. Through this initiative, Mondelēz aims to divert over one million pounds of plastic waste from landfills annually.

Caitlin Schell, Marketing Director for Triscuit, emphasized, "By adopting advanced recycling technology, we are helping reduce reliance on fossil materials and supporting the company’s mission for a more sustainable future."

This initiative, in partnership with Berry Global Group, Inc. and LyondellBasell, further enhances Triscuit’s efforts to promote sustainability in packaging and agriculture. The brand is committed to sourcing wheat more sustainably, supporting conservation efforts, and investing in America’s future farmers.
