IFCN, the dairy research network, has released the actual IFCN Top 20 Milk Processor list. Dairy Farmers of America holds the first place with a 3.4% market share, while the French private company Lactalis holds the second place with its 2.4% market share. Fonterra took the third place, 1.9%
By collecting and processing 212 billion liters of milk, the Top 20 dairy processors fulfill the dairy needs of around one billion individuals while making an annual societal contribution exceeding USD 130 billion, states the report.
In alignment with sustainability objectives, each of the leading 20 dairy processors actively engages in climate and sustainability monitoring, with a shared commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by the year 2050.
Despite notable variations among companies, the EBITDA margin across all processors maintained an average of approximately 8% from 2014 to 2022, showcasing the industry's consistent financial performance.
