On the sidelines of the Kazakh-French business forum, the Head of State met with leaders of French business structures. In particular, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the President of Boehringer Ingelheim France, Christiane Weisen, during the meeting with whom he noted the importance of the agreement reached between the Kazakh holding QazBioPharm and the French company Boehringer Ingelheim on the transfer of technology that will allow the production of vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease in Kazakhstan. According to Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, veterinary welfare plays an important role in ensuring food security.

The President of Kazakhstan said that the country is actively working to create a biotechnology cluster, and a national biopharmaceutical holding QazBioPharm has been created to develop this industry.

As noted in the press service, during a meeting with Semmaris General Director Stefan Layani, the Head of our state was informed about the implementation of a joint project to create a large agro-processing hub in the Almaty region. The facility is scheduled to open in 2025. The total volume of Kazakhstani investments currently amounts to $150 million. For its part, the company will transfer technology and best French practices at the initial stage of the project.
