"During the Dairy Olympics, I hope to gain new knowledge, information, and experience speaking at an international conference. This will be my first international experience," said Mikhail Sayapin to The DairyNews. He also anticipates meeting new people, reconnecting with old acquaintances, and engaging in both professional and casual conversations.
During the panel discussion, Mikhail Sayapin will share his experience of entering the family business. "My introduction to farming occurred long before I reached a conscious age. My father took me everywhere and always from a very young age. From 8-10 years old, I began to physically help on the farm, learning equipment and interacting with animals. At 14, during school holidays, I actively participated in the forage harvesting process as a tractor driver-mechanic. As I grew older and became involved in management processes, I took on more tasks. Currently, I am fully involved in managing the enterprise," the farmer told The DairyNews.
The Sayapin farm is located in the village of Strelnya in the Mosalsky district of the Kaluga region. They own seven farms, five of which produce milk, while the remaining two rear calves and bulls up to one month old.
The total livestock of the farm is 1400 head of cattle, including 800 dairy cows. The farm produces 22 tons of raw milk daily. There are 40 employees working here. "Strelnya" currently cultivates 2400 hectares of land, of which 2000 hectares are used for forage harvesting, and 400 hectares are allocated for pasture.
