Exports of Kazakh agricultural products to China increased by 84% over the year

During the meeting, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov and Deputy Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Liu Guozhong discussed the task set for the governments to bring trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China to $ 100 billion. The prospects of increasing cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the field of agriculture are considered. Over the year, the turnover of agricultural products increased by 1.7 times, and in the first quarter of this year this indicator was increased by another 6%. At the same time, exports of Kazakh agricultural products to China increased by 84% over the year.
According to the press service, Olzhas Bektenov stressed Kazakhstan's readiness to increase the supply of organic and environmentally friendly agricultural products to the Chinese market. A positive impetus is provided by the gradual lifting of restrictions from China on the import of Kazakh meat and poultry products. The priority direction is the creation of joint projects on deep processing in the field of agriculture.
The parties also discussed cooperation in the transit and transport sector, the expansion of industrial and investment cooperation through new breakthrough investment projects (45 joint projects totaling $14.5 billion are currently being implemented), the press service noted.
