Danone is entering the infant nutrition market in Spain, aiming for growth by introducing its Blédina brand.

Danone is expanding its product offerings in Spain by entering the infant nutrition market, catering to children from birth to three years of age with its Blédina brand. As reported, François Lacombe, General Director of Danone Iberia, sees vast opportunities in this segment, noting the alignment with parental preferences in 2025. Although the Blédina brand has been established for 140 years and is already present in major European markets, its entry into Spain marks a significant step for Danone. Lacombe highlights the potential for innovation in this sector, explaining that the brand will be distributed across supermarkets, hypermarkets, and e-commerce platforms.
The initiative comes on the back of two consecutive years of sales growth in Spain (2022 and 2023), bolstered by high inflation. In 2023, the company achieved revenues close to 900 million euros, the highest since 2015. Lacombe emphasizes the importance of innovation, stating, "Our role is to lead and provide solutions for both retail and consumers. We launch 50 innovations annually in Spain, and the results have been very positive." Looking ahead, Danone plans to continue capitalizing on emerging opportunities by introducing new brands aligned with its mission and consumer needs.
