Albert Heijn, in collaboration with Farm Dairy Netherlands and PlanetDairy Denmark, launches innovative dairy and plant milk blends aimed at combining traditional taste with reduced carbon benefits.

Dutch retailer Albert Heijn has introduced a new blend of dairy and plant milk products, developed with the expertise of Farm Dairy Netherlands and the tech knowledge of PlanetDairy Denmark. This launch is the culmination of over a year of collaboration, starting from 2024, aimed at merging the taste and nutrition of traditional dairy with the environmental benefits of plant-based ingredients.
According to Dr Paul Cornillon, CTO of PlanetDairy, 'We shared the success of our cheese launch in the Nordic markets and approached with ideas on cheese, milk and yogurt.' The product’s development involved consumer feedback loops to ensure a competitive and appealing product. Jan de Graaf from Albert Heijn notes, 'The Farm Dairy and PlanetDairy partnership has enabled us to be the first to launch dairy and plant milk blends in the Netherlands.' As the companies eye future products like yogurt blends, Jakob Skovgaard, CEO of PlanetDairy, sees this as the first step in a broader innovation strategy.
