Alltech Appoints Leticia Souza as On-Farm Dairy Specialist to Strengthen Employee Training and Retention
In her new role as part of the Alltech Dairy On-Farm Support team, Souza will spend significant time in the field, addressing one of the dairy industry's key challenges: workforce development. Jorge Delgado, Alltech’s on-farm dairy training, talent development, and retention program specialist, praised Souza’s expertise. “Leticia’s knowledge and experience will be a great asset, providing added value to our customers and dairy workers while strengthening our commitment to excellence,” he said.
Originally from Brazil, Souza has a robust academic and practical background. After earning her bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine, she moved to the U.S., where she joined the University of Minnesota’s MAST trainee program. She gained hands-on experience at Lazy J Dairy Farm in South Dakota before serving as a research assistant at the university.
In 2023, Souza completed a master’s degree in veterinary medicine at Michigan State University. Her research has focused on mastitis, antimicrobial stewardship in dairy cattle, and data-driven solutions for farm management. Her work has been widely published, including in the Journal of Dairy Science and JDS Communications.
