Additionally, a reduction in dairy farmers poses a significant challenge to the sustainability of Uruguay's dairy industry, as highlighted by INALE.

Inale also reported that the average farm-gate milk price in July was $0.41 per litre, which was 5.1% below the level recorded in July 2025.

Recently, Uruguay’s National Dairy Institute presented findings at the 11th International Dairy Industry Congress. Economist Mercedes Baraibar, along with contributions from Natalia Di Candia, presented data indicating that worldwide dairy consumption could increase through 2034, with varying patterns by region and product.
