Important Events
The Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries (MGAP) has recently initiated a significant campaign to promote best practices for foot-and-mouth disease vaccination. This campaign focuses on educating livestock farmers, technical staff, and health officials on effective vaccination techniques. Running from June 15 to July 15, the campaign features an informative video aimed at delivering clear educational content to its target audience.
Company Plans
MGAP is committed to continuing its efforts to improve livestock health management through various educational initiatives and campaigns. By promoting best practices, the Ministry aims to boost the overall health and productivity of Uruguay's livestock industry.
Regulatory Developments
In addition to health initiatives, MGAP has introduced a comprehensive set of new requirements for dairy processing facilities. These include the need for notarial certifications of ownership, environmental and urban planning authorizations, building plans, process descriptive reports, a Good Manufacturing Practices Manual (GMP), and Standardized Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP). Export-oriented industries must ensure their HACCP system is approved and in compliance with the specific regulations of their product's destination markets.
