Narendra Damodardas Modi was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, a small town in the Mehsana district of Gujarat, India. His entry into political life began in the early 1970s when he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a pracharak (campaigner). Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 until 2014, during which he was recognized for his leadership and governance. On May 26, 2014, he became the Prime Minister of India, a position he continues to hold.
