Saexi's Strategic Dairy Investment in Minas Gerais
Saexi, a company with a longstanding commitment to genetic improvement in cattle, is making a strategic investment in the dairy sector with a project based in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The company, which has been operating a genetic-improvement programme since 1998, is directing R$5.5 million towards a new dairy initiative focused on Simbrasil cattle.
Project Overview
The primary objective of Saexi's investment is to achieve a production target of 12,000 litres of milk per day. This ambitious goal will be supported by the company's herd, which includes approximately 5,000 breeding cows, with about 500 of these being Simbrasil animals. These cattle have been selected for their high milk output and adaptability to tropical climates, making them ideal for the region.
Genetic Improvement Programme
Since its inception in 1998, Saexi's genetic-improvement programme has played a critical role in enhancing the quality and productivity of its cattle. The programme's focus on breeding cows that are well-suited to tropical climates has positioned Saexi as a key player in the industry, enabling it to leverage its expertise for this new dairy project.
