The National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India (NCDFI) plays a critical role in the Indian dairy industry. As a central body, it represents 117 member cooperatives, facilitating the supply and distribution of milk throughout India.

Partnership with the Indian Army

Since 1984, the NCDFI has maintained a strategic partnership with the Indian Army. This collaboration focuses on the procurement of dairy products, showcasing the federation's ability to manage large-scale supply operations. This partnership ensures that the nutritional needs of the armed forces are consistently met.

Procurement Plans for 2025-26

The NCDFI has outlined ambitious procurement plans for the fiscal year 2025-26. These plans include the provision of 18.48 crore litres of fresh liquid milk and 4.11 crore litres of ultra-high-temperature (UHT) milk. Such initiatives reflect the federation's commitment to maintaining a steady and reliable supply of dairy products, aligning with its operational capabilities and strategic foresight in meeting large institutional needs.

Leadership

The organization is chaired by Dr. Meenesh Shah, who provides leadership and strategic direction to the NCDFI.

Dispute Resolution

The National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India is also involved in dispute resolution. An instance of this is the complaints filed by Milma with the NCDFI regarding the actions of the Karnataka Milk Federation.
