Käse: A Pioneer in Artisanal Cheesemaking
Founded in 2016 by Namrata Sundaresan and Anuradha Krishnamoorthy, Käse is an artisanal creamery that has carved a niche for itself in the dairy industry with its innovative approach to cheesemaking. Initially established to provide sustainable livelihood skills for differently abled women, Käse has evolved into a celebrated craft business renowned for its distinctive cheeses.
Innovative Cheese Production
Käse specializes in developing cheeses that reflect the rich culinary heritage of its region by incorporating local spices and botanicals. The company has mastered the art of adjusting fermentation and ageing processes to suit local conditions, creating a range of products from fresh cheeses that mature in about three days to firm, Parmesan-style varieties that age for up to three years.
Recognition and Awards
Käse's commitment to quality and innovation has not gone unnoticed. The company received a Bronze award at the World Cheese Awards in 2022 for its 'Lavender Fields' cheese, and in 2023, it was honored with a Silver award for an Alpine-style washed-rind cheese. These accolades highlight Käse's position as a leader in artisanal cheese production.
