Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF)

Known as Milma, the Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF) stands out as a significant entity in the dairy industry. Based in Kerala, Milma is recognized for its impressive achievements in enhancing milk procurement. Between April and September 2025, the federation recorded a remarkable 13.97% increase in its average daily milk procurement, elevating from 10.66 lakh litres to 12.15 lakh litres. This growth is particularly noteworthy given the reported decline in the state's cattle population, underscoring the strong consumer trust in Milma's products.

The success of Milma can largely be attributed to the dedicated efforts of its regional unions located in Malabar, Ernakulam, and Thiruvananthapuram. These regional unions have been pivotal in driving the federation's growth and ensuring a steady supply of quality milk to satisfy consumer demands.

Milma has strategically invested in improving dairy infrastructure and the quality of its herd through initiatives like Ksheera Samaswasam, Ksheera Sadanam, and Ksheera Swanthanam. These initiatives are designed to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of milk production, thereby supporting the federation's long-term growth objectives.

A significant strategic decision made by Milma involves increasing its cattle feed subsidy. From February 1 to March 31, 2023, Milma offered a subsidy of ₹200 per bag on their Gomathi Gold cattle feed. This move effectively doubled the previous state-level support, aligning with Milma's commitment to alleviating financial pressure on dairy farmers.
