Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union

The Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union is renowned as the founding organization of the Amul cooperative movement, a significant player in the dairy industry. In the 2025–26 financial year, the union recorded an impressive turnover of ₹15,114 crore, reflecting a growth of 7.2% from the previous year.

The union's extensive supplier base includes more than 700,000 registered milk producers. This large network is supported by several innovative livestock programs aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency. Notably, the union has expanded its livestock initiatives through the distribution of sexed-sorted semen, embryo-transfer services, and the implementation of digital belts for monitoring cows.
