Instituto del Agua del Estado de Aguascalientes (Inagua)

Instituto del Agua del Estado de Aguascalientes, commonly referred to as Inagua, is a key organization in the region of Aguascalientes dedicated to addressing water-related issues. The organization is currently focusing on investigating sources of nutrient pollution, a growing concern in the area.

One of the significant aspects of Inagua's current investigations is the spread of water hyacinth, a problem linked to wastewater emissions from the dairy sector. This has prompted the organization to thoroughly assess the effluent from livestock operations and agro-industrial facilities, which are major contributors to this environmental challenge.

Inagua is collaborating closely with the state environmental protection prosecutor’s office, known as Proespa, and the National Water Commission, Conagua.
