The expansion is planned in phases. The first phase focuses on constructing a new barn, while the second phase will see the establishment of two additional 1500-cow barns. Additionally, the expansion includes a 21-million-gallon lagoon, electrical upgrades, and an advanced manure and sand separation system.
Current Production and Sustainability
Edelweiss Dairy currently manages a herd that is milked three times daily, producing over 150 million pounds of milk annually. The farm spans over 7,000 acres of cropland, cultivating corn silage, alfalfa, and other crops to support its livestock. This holistic approach not only supports the farm's production needs but also reflects its commitment to sustainable agriculture practices.
