The introduction of labeling of dairy products will give producers a lot of problems, says the director of the enterprise of LLC Agroholding Talitsky (Sverdlovsk region) Svetlana Abramova.
‘Manufactures have a lot of problems (in connection with labeling - IF),’said Abramova to Interfax.

Therefore, according to her, with the introduction of labeling, all manufacturers will increase the cost of dairy products. ‘(1 marking code-IF) costs 50 kopecks, the increase in price will be at least a quarter of this amount,’ she said.

At the same time, Abramova is convinced that labeling ‘will not be an effective measure in the fight against counterfeiting and falsification.’ ‘It will be difficult to track everyone, because this is a one - time product,’ Abramova said.

‘We are still choosing the option of labeling: applicator, drip-jet or in the printing house. Now we will test them on our lines and make a decision closer to the end of March. Only then can we talk about additional costs,’ Abramova added.

As reported, in December 2020, the Russian government approved the rules and deadlines for labeling dairy products. The main deadline for the introduction of labeling - January 20, 2021 - was determined earlier, by a government decree of March 30, 2020.

Since January 20, 2021, the labeling of milk and cream (non-condensed, without adding sugar), the shelf life of which exceeds 28 days, as well as ice cream and other types of food ice that do not contain or contain cocoa, will begin.

Since July 1, 2021, the labeling is proposed to be extended to milk and cream with a shelf life of less than 28 days; cheese, butter, milk pastes, cottage cheese and soft drinks with milk fat; since October 1, 2021 - to buttermilk, yogurt, kefir, condensed milk and other products.

For farms that independently carry out retail sales of their own dairy products, it is proposed to make a delay in mandatory labeling until October 1, 2022.

Since October 1, 2021, wholesale companies and retailers that sell labeled products must provide information about them to the information monitoring system.

The Russian labeling rules also determine the procedure for applying codes and the terms of providing information to the system operator by market participants. So, since September 1, 2022, volume and article accounting of products (by batch) is introduced, since December 1, 2023 – traceability by item, but only for dairy products with a shelf life of more than 40 days.

The main activity of LLC Agroholding Talitsky is production of milk and dairy products.
