The practice of implementing the Honest mark system has demonstrated additional risks that dairy producers face on a daily basis. According to forecasts, the decline in the productivity of plants due to various violations in the operation of the system can be up to 20%, said Anatoly Losev, CEO of Molvest Group. According to him, the business has not yet felt the process optimization and cost reduction announced by the Honest mark system, rather on the contrary.

Mr. Losev made such a statement during a field meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management. It was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Voronezh region Viktor Logvinov, Senator Alexey Kondratenko, State Duma Deputy Sergei Lisovsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dairy Union of Russia Lyudmila Manitskaya, Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for Voronezh, Belgorod and Lipetsk regions Tatiana Ausheva, Project Manager of the Milk commodity group of LLC Operator-CATD Tigran Avetisyan. The issues of labeling of dairy products were discussed at the meeting.

According to the company, expenses of Molvest for technical equipment for labeling amounted to 270 million rubles. In addition, the company needed to retrain more than 300 employees, as well as hire about 20 specialists to work with the Honest mark system.

With processing volumes of 500 thousand tons of milk per year, annual labeling costs of Molvest after the introduction of the third stage will amount to 300 million rubles, and taking into account the costs of line maintenance and returns due to unreadability of codes - about 600 million rubles.

Experts say that all these costs of producers will fall on the shoulders of consumers.

The Group of companies Molvest includes eight production sites, five dairy complexes, which keep more than 30 thousand cows. The company processes more than 500 thousand tons of milk per year and produces about 280 dairy products of eight brands: "Vkusnoteevo", "Molvest", Felicita, "Nezhny vozrast", "Fruate", "Ivan Poddubny", "Volzhskie prostory" and "Kubansky khutorok". The company's products are sold in more than 30 regions of Russia. The revenue of Molvest Group in 2020 increased by 12.5% compared to 2019 and exceeded 28.7 billion rubles. Sales of products in physical terms increased by 5%.
