Visiting session to the breeding plant "Krasnogvardeysky" will be held during the XI Dairy Olympics
The expert noted that the dynamics of the switching of farmers to automated milking cannot be called high.
– According to our data, from 30 million tons of milk produced in Russia, no more than 1.5 % is milked by robots, – commented Semin.
According to him, each country has its own trend. So, the US is now actively looking towards robotic milking, Japan follows a similar way due to large subsidies from the state. India is characterized by small farms with a basic level of management. In Russia, there is a consolidation of farms, there are fewer farms. This "industrialization" implies the use of Heavy Duty-segment solutions.
Speaking about DeLaval's plans in the Russian market, Andrey Semin stressed that new products are expected in the line of industrial stationary milking parlors of parallel type, work with innovations and promotion of robotic milking will continue.
During the visiting session to the breeding plant "Krasnogvardeysky" during the XI Dairy Olympics DeLaval experts will show a live example of what an effective robotic milking looks like.
By the way, the average number of cattle at the breeding plant is 3051 heads, including 1192 forage-fed cows. Gross milk yield amounted to 12 521 tons in 2018. Milk production per cow per year is 10.5 thousand kg.
We will remind that the XI Dairy Olympics will be held in St. Petersburg from 26 to 29 May. The event will bring together key domestic and foreign experts of the dairy industry.
