VIK and Medion Ardhika Bhakti Partnership Initiates Registration of Veterinary Products in Indonesia
VIK Group has partnered with Medion Ardhika Bhakti, one of the largest veterinary medicine producers in Indonesia. The Russian group has also begun registering several cattle medications and a disinfectant in the local market.
VIK representatives held talks in Indonesia with potential partners and members of the business community. Meetings also took place with representatives from Indonesia and Russian governmental entities operating in the country.
The parties discussed facilitating contacts with poultry farming enterprises and veterinary product distributors. Medion possesses its own production capabilities and simultaneously supplies products from foreign companies.
According to Sergey Opalovskiy, head of VIK's export sales, the Indonesian company was looking for solutions not present in its current portfolio. As a result, Medion is considering adding Russian-produced coccidiostats to its offerings.
VIK estimates that the Indonesian veterinary drug market for agricultural animals could grow from $570 million in 2024 to $680 million by 2030. About 80% of consumption is for poultry farming, with imported products accounting for up to 65% of the market. Among the international companies already operating in the country, VIK mentions Zoetis, MSD, Boehringer Ingelheim, Elanco, and Ceva.
The company stated that the demand from poultry farms for disease prevention and treatment products creates opportunities for VIK products, including coccidiostats. Previously, the group signed an agreement with Thai distributor SCR Research International for supplies to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
