Uruguay’s Milk Production Reached a Record 2.513 Million Litres
Uruguay’s milk production increased by 9.8% during the 2025/26 production year, reaching 2.513 million litres. The volume was the highest recorded in the country.
Productivity also rose during the period. Production reached 6,365 litres per cow.
The number of dairy establishments declined to 2,945. The fall in the number of producers deepened the concentration of Uruguay’s dairy sector.
The record production therefore coincided with a smaller number of establishments and higher output per cow. The figures cover the 2025/26 production year.
The data describe changes in both the scale and structure of Uruguay’s dairy industry: total milk production reached a record, productivity increased, and the number of establishments decreased.
