The Russian Government Allocates 670 Million Rubles for Agroinsurance in 21 Regions
The additional funding is intended for agroinsurance in 21 regions. The funds will be distributed under the existing state program, as announced by the head of the government, Mikhail Mishustin.
The list of recipients includes Krasnodar Krai, Bryansk and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as the republics of Crimea, Mordovia, and Udmurtia. Other regions were not specified in the government's announcement.
In total, more than 5.5 billion rubles have been allocated for these purposes this year. According to Mishustin, the state support should reduce the agricultural producers' costs associated with adverse weather conditions.
The Prime Minister listed such conditions as frosts, droughts, heavy precipitation, and floods. He noted that such situations occur annually and can lead to reduced harvests and livestock numbers.
"Our agricultural producers reliably supply the domestic market with all major types of food," said Mishustin. According to him, domestic products are in demand both within the country and abroad.
The head of the government also stated the need to continue systemic support for agribusiness so that it can develop and explore promising niches. He expressed hope that the measures taken will allow the agro-industrial complex to continue achieving high results.
