The Government of Rostovskaya oblast Allocated 2 Billion Rubles in Subsidies to Farmers
Agricultural producers and organizations in the agro-industrial complex of Rostovskaya oblast have been allocated 2 billion rubles in subsidies. According to the regional government's press service, 234 applications are currently being considered for the second tranche of the grain subsidy. These payments are backed by 600 million rubles, with disbursement planned by October 25.
The governor of Rostovskaya oblast, Yuriy Slyusar, stated that the region, in collaboration with the federal Ministerstvo selskogo khozyaistva, is developing additional support measures for farmers. Among these, he highlighted extending preferential loans for farms unable to sell grain, who didn’t receive revenue, and face difficulties in repaying loans.
"Understanding the importance of supporting farmers, together with the federal Ministerstvo selskogo khozyaistva, we are working on a series of measures. Primarily, it concerns extending preferential loans: people did not sell grain, did not receive funds, and cannot settle loans. Such loans need to be deferred to the next year at the same preferential rate," the governor's words were cited by the press service.
Starting October 1, 2026, applications will be accepted for the second tranche of crop insurance subsidies. More than 95 million rubles will be directed from the federal budget to this program. Taking into account the funds from the regional budget, the total amount of support for farmers will exceed 116 million rubles.
In the region, more than 900,000 hectares have been sown with winter crops. The government's announcement notes that this figure surpasses last year’s pace. Simultaneously, over 1 million tons of oilseeds, primarily sunflowers, have been harvested in the region.
During the publication of this report, the harvest of late grain crops, including rice, continues. It was previously reported that in 2026, Rostovskaya oblast would receive more than 1.04 billion rubles to support priority areas of the agro-industrial complex. The total amount of subsidies to Russian regional budgets for these areas in 2026 is expected to be over 35.2 billion rubles.
