Wholesalers who do not have retail outlets for sale to the end user must be fully prepared for labeling since September 1, 2022. This was announced during a webinar dedicated to the stages of introducing labeling of dairy products, reported the project manager of the Milk product group of the company Yulia Kuzmina, writes The DairyNews.

‘Wholesale stores that do not have retail outlets for sale to the end consumer should be fully prepared for labeling since September 1, 2022. If they have their own store registered under the same TIN, it must be equipped and ready for operation since December 1, 2021 in terms of disposal of the labeled product for the end consumer. If the issue is related to e-document flow, the deadline is September 1, 2022 for all participants,’ Yulia Kuzmina said.

The expert also reminded that the start of mandatory labeling of finished dairy products begins on January 20, 2021. Since this date until the date of mandatory labeling of each specific subgroup, codes are issued free of charge. Residues entered into circulation before the start date of the mandatory labeling of the corresponding subgroup are not labeled and are sold until the expiration date of the product.

We remind, the date of mandatory labeling for each of the subgroups are the following: since 1 June 2021 - ice cream and cheeses, since September 1, 2021 – goods with a shelf life of more than 40 days in the remaining subgroups, and since December 1, 2021 - the mandatory labelling of goods with a shelf life of 40 days or less in the remaining subgroups.
