The volume of exports of dairy products from Russia is still very modest. At the same time, Ekaterina Zakharova noted that export is the only way to preserve and develop the Russian dairy industry against the background of an inevitable decline in demand in the domestic market.
‘Taking into account the fact that the consumption of dairy products on the Russian market will decrease due to a decrease in the population primarily and other factors, Russia needs other markets for the development of the dairy industry, it is necessary to develop export infrastructure, conclude agreements on a free trade zone with other countries, promote Russian dairy products,’ Ekaterina Zakharova concluded.
