Ekozem-Agrar, the German holding company of the Russian milk producer Ekoniva Group (a significant part of its assets is located in the Chernozem region), plans to place a bond loan at the Moscow Stock Exchange in the first quarter of 2021. The funds received from the placement will be used for the partial repayment of the 2012/21 bond loan. This follows from the documents of the company.

It should be noted that Ecozem-Agrar reported an increase in the volume of raw milk production in 2020 by 22% to 925 thousand tons, according to the final report of the holding. The milk yield increased significantly, especially in the fourth quarter - from 2.5 thousand tons as of September 30 to 2.9 thousand tons by the end of the fiscal year. The number of milking cows at the end of the year amounted to 105 thousand head (+7%). This allowed Ekoniva to become one of the three largest milk producers in the world.

The price of milk increased by 4% compared to the previous year and reached 32 rubles / kg. The fall in the ruble exchange rate had an impact on the dynamics of milk prices in euros, however, the price stabilized at 0.35 euros/kg by the end of the year.

In general, the group currently processes about 300 tons of its own milk per day. By the end of 2022, Ecozem-Agrar will process a third of the total volume of milk produced by the group. The product range under the Ekoniva brand includes 70 commodity items. The products are sold in more than 20.8 thousand retail outlets and public catering establishments (in 2019 - 3.6 thousand establishments). As of December 31, 2020, the land bank of Ecozem-Agrar amounted to 630 thousand hectares, with 50% of the land being owned by the group.

The coronavirus pandemic did not have a significant impact on the results of the group, the report said. All factories of the company were operating smoothly, with the necessary safety measures in place. The pandemic also did not have a significant impact on the price of milk.
