The Dairy Intelligence Agency (DIA) has developed and monthly publishes "liquid" indicator of the purchasing power of Russians, the Liter Index. In November 2020, the Litre index DIA declined due to higher prices and lower nominal wages.

DIA analysts based on Rosstat data on the monthly nominal salary of Russians and prices for drinking milk (whole, pasteurized, with a fat content of 2.5-3.2%), mineral and drinking water, and table grape wine with a strength of up to 14% calculated the Liter Index. The liter index is the volume of drinking milk, water and wine in liters per month that Russians can buy on a salary.

If we translate a nominal salary of Russians in November 2020 to liters, we get 833,46 liters of drinking milk (1.3% less than in October 2020 and 3% more than in November 2019) or 1405 liters of drinking water (0.4% less than in October 2020 and 1.3% more than in November 2019) or 111,7 liters of wine (0.8% less than in October 2020 and 0.2% more than in November 2019). In addition, the analysts of the Agency calculated how many liters of raw milk can be bought for a nominal salary per month based on the Dairy Index DIA, the Liter Index of raw milk was 1,738 (1.7% less than in October 2020 and 0.6% less than in November 2019).

Снижение Индекса литра в ноябре 2020 было обусловлено снижением номинальной заработной платы, при том, что цены на указанные продукты продолжили расти (кроме минеральной воды).
