The FAO dairy price index rose by 3.2 percent in December. This indicator continues to increase for the seventh month in a row, reported in the FAO press service to The DairyNews.

Strong global import demand, driven by concerns about the effects of drier and hotter weather on milk production in Oceania, and strong domestic demand in Western Europe, contributed to higher prices for all categories of dairy products. At the same time, at the end of 2020, the average value of the Price Index for Dairy Products was 1.0 percent lower than in 2019.

Earlier, we reported that at the first auction in 2021, held on January 5, the Global Dairy Trade index rose by 3.9%.
