The CATD announced a slowdown in the growth of prices for dairy products due to labeling
The CATD claims a steady increase in the cost of dairy products before the introduction of labeling. However, according to the company, the price of cheese, which began to be labeled on June 1, increased by only 1.81% in November. The cost of sterilized milk, which has been labeled since September 1, increased by 1.77% in November. And the cost of dairy products that were not labeled grew faster. For example, pasteurized milk in November rose by 1.87%, sour cream - by 2.01%.
The price of raw milk in November showed an almost three percent increase, and by the end of 12 months it increased by 8.7%.
The CATD also added that labeling leads to a decrease in the cost or a slowdown in the dynamics of product price growth due to the whitewashing of the market and a decrease in price volatility dependent on the circulation of illegal products, the prices of which cannot be controlled.
‘The increase in prices for packaged dairy products is not related to labeling and primarily depends on the increase in the cost of raw materials, production packaging, the rise in price of imported veterinary medicines, electricity tariffs, and the exchange rate. In addition, the dynamics of prices for milk and butter is associated with a decrease in feed yields,’ the company said.
However, as we wrote earlier, a number of enterprises producing dairy products were forced to cease operations. Thus, in Chelyabinsk region, the craft cheese factory Amandi is closing. LLC Ivmolokoprodukt is being liquidated in Ivanovo region.
We also wrote that the dairies of Vladimir region complained about problems with the new labeling.
