The Amur JSC Luch will put into operation the first stage of the megafarm next year. The enterprise will be located in Ivanovo district, reported in the press service of the regional government to The DairyNews.

Temporary buildings and facilities have been erected on the site of the future megafarm, external power supply networks have been installed, two wells for water for household needs have been clogged, a concrete-mortar installation of a concrete plant with a capacity of 30 m3 per hour has been installed, work on the foundations for buildings is being completed.

By the end of the year, it is planned to complete the foundations for the buildings and mount metal frames on the cowshed and milking and dairy unit with administrative and household complexes.

In 2022, it is planned to put into operation the first stage of the megafarm, which includes: a cowshed for 1000 units of cattle, a milking and dairy unit with administrative and household complexes, a maternity barn with a department for dry cows, a calf house for 336 calves.

The dairy megafarm in Ivanovo district will become the largest milk production enterprise in the region. The investment project is being implemented with the support of the Government of the Amur region.

The megafarm is being established based on the already existing agricultural enterprise Luch. It will be able to accommodate 2,400 dairy cattle.

It is assumed that at the first stage, that is, within the next two years, 40 new jobs will be created at the enterprise. When the farm is fully operational, the number of jobs will increase to 70. The cost of the project is 1731.9 million rubles.

To date, Luch keeps 3,400 units of cattle, of which 1,200 are milking cows. In 2017, the farm received the status of a breeding reproducer for breeding the red and white breed and annually provides breeding stock to peasant farm holdings and agricultural enterprises in the region.

In total, there are 11 dairy farms in the region with a total cattle population of 15,124 units, including 6920 cows. Last year, the livestock breeders of the region managed to produce 3,100 tons of milk more than a year earlier. At the same time, the main increase in production was provided by four large agricultural enterprises - LLC Priamurye in Tambov district, JSC Luch from Ivanovo district, LLC MiS Agro in Seryshevo district and JSC Dimskoye from Tambov district.

‘To date, a number of investment projects on meat and dairy farming are being implemented in the Amur region, which are aimed at increasing the provision of the region with products of its own production. About 347.3 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for the timely and high-quality implementation of investment projects. The funds are distributed in three directions — to reduce the cost of construction of livestock complexes, purchase of breeding cattle and equipment. The implementation of investment projects will not only increase the production of livestock products, but also create additional jobs, improve the social infrastructure of villages,’ said Governor Vasily Orlov.
