Since the beginning of the year, exports of Russian dairy products have increased by 11%

For ten months of this year, exports of dairy products from Russia increased by 11% compared to the same period last year and reached $ 248 million (data for the EAEU countries for 9 months of 2020), reported in the press service of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation to The DairyNews.

The supplies of cheese and cottage cheese, in particular, showed the positive dynamics; they increased by 13% to 71 million dollars. Exports of milk and non-condensed cream increased by 19% to $ 23 million, butter - by 83% to $ 12 million, and whey - 2.2 times to $ 8 million.

The largest buyer of domestic dairy products is Kazakhstan, which accounts for 40% of the total supply. This year, shipments to the country increased by 10% to $ 99 million. Exports to Ukraine increased to $ 36 million (+14%), while Belarus purchased $ 35 million (+10%) of this category of products. Among the non-CIS countries, China stands out, which increased imports to $ 5.3 million (+32%). The markets of the Persian Gulf, South-East Asia and Africa are promising in terms of increasing exports of dairy products.

Within the framework of the Federal project "Export of agricultural products", the Ministry of agriculture of Russia conducts systematic work aimed at improving the competitiveness of Russian agricultural producers in foreign markets. Currently, a set of state support measures is being implemented for export-oriented enterprises. Thus, they have the right to receive preferential short-term and investment loans, compensation for part of the costs of product certification for deliveries to foreign markets, as well as for transportation.

In addition, new support mechanisms are being worked out within the framework of the Federal project. So, starting since 2021, part of the direct costs incurred for the creation and (or) modernization of agricultural processing facilities will be reimbursed in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 137 of February 12, 2020. In addition, since the beginning of next year, it is planned to introduce a new measure of state support in the form of compensation for lease payments when purchasing equipment for manufacturers of export-oriented agricultural products.
