Sergey Molotov: the price of raw materials in 2021 increased by 23%

According to Sergey Molotov, General Director of the Educational and experimental dairy plant named after N.V. Vereshchagin, in 2021 the company faced a sharp increase in prices for raw milk, as well as for production components. According to him, since the beginning of the year, the increase in prices for raw materials amounted to 23%. This was announced by the representative of the company during the Round table meeting "On measures of state support of the dairy industry in the Russian Federation", reports The DairyNews.

‘The situation with prices for medium-level enterprises is approximately similar. In 2021, the main problems in production were related to the financial industry – with what is happening in relation to prices for cost components. The price of dairy raw materials has increased by 23% since the beginning of the year. The raw material base in the cost of dairy products is from 60 to 80%. Auxiliary materials - from 10 to 60%. The salary for 2021 increased by 13%,’ Sergey Molotov said.

The expert added that with such a level of costs, the efficiency of production is a big question. According to him, there are two ways in this situation – either a further increase in prices for dairy products (according to the speaker, at the end of the year it increased by 14% at the enterprise), or state support mechanisms. The expert considers obtaining preferential loans to be the only effective cost compensation mechanism.

Earlier, Vice-president of the company Damate Andrey Grigorashchenko spoke about the need for a long-term program of state support measures for the dairy industry.
