Sergey Baranov: the strength of competition in the whey market will depend on the chosen processing method

Sergey Baranov, General Director of Kieselmann Rus, noted significant prospects in the processing and sale of whey in Russia, writes The DairyNews.

The expert will talk about the current most effective methods of processing whey and milk into dairy components at the I Dairy Futurological Congress, which will be held at the annual XII Dairy Olympics in Novorossiysk on May 25.

‘Deep processing of milk is a chance for enterprises to develop an export-oriented economy. Our goal is to collect and process all the whey; at the same time, we can say that the strength of competition in the market will depend on the chosen method of processing the whey,’ said Sergey Baranov.

The head of Kieselmann Rus also stressed that in the coming years, the Russian dairy market will develop ‘the trend of production of dairy components that are in demand in the production of semi-finished products, various dairy products, including functional ones, mixtures, dietary supplements, sports nutrition and medicines.’ The relevance of this trend is confirmed by scientists around the world, including Russian scientists who are developing a vaccine against COVID-19 in the form of a fermented dairy drink.

The XII Dairy Olympics will be held from 23 to 27 May in Novorossiysk. As part of the business program, experts and market participants will discuss trends in the global milk trade, export prospects, the development of technologies in the market of milk production and processing, and the collaboration of dairy producers with related industries.
