According to analysts' forecasts, raw milk production in China in 2022 will reach 36.7 million tons, i.e. it will increase by 3%. Maxim Fasteev, a leading analyst of Infagro, told about this in his official telegram account, writes The DairyNews.

The expert noted that the growth is associated with operational investments that have been invested in recent years to increase livestock, improve productivity and put additional facilities into operation.

Initial stocks of whole milk powder and domestic production in 2022 will put pressure on imports, which, according to forecasts, will decrease by 6% to 850 thousand tons. Imports of skimmed milk powder, cheese and butter are projected to grow to meet the growing demand. Imports of whey and related products are projected to decline in 2022 as the infant birth rate declines and demand in the animal feed sector weakens due to lower livestock/meat prices.

‘In its latest "Chinese" report, Rabobank also writes about the risks of a serious reduction in dairy imports to China in 2022, which will balance the global market in favor of supply and will contribute to lower prices for exchange-traded dairy products. Reasons: high stocks and economic problems,’ Maxim Fasteev wrote.
