Specialists of the German company Kiwa BCS Öko-Garantie conducted an annual inspection of the organic farm Savinskaya Niva, part of the Group of companies EkoNiva. They checked all the technological processes of production in Savinskaya Niva for compliance with the European requirements of organic crop production and animal husbandry, reported in the press service of the Group of companies to The DairyNews.

During the audit, Kiwa BCS Öko-Garantie inspectors assessed the condition of the lands used by the farm, quality of the crops grown, health of animals and their housing conditions. Laboratory analyses of the samples also confirmed that the work at Savinskaya Field is carried out in full compliance with European standards of organic agriculture.

‘The successful completion of the audit by Savinskaya Niva confirmed the compliance of the company's production processes with high international standards and guarantees its compliance with all necessary norms and requirements to the consumer,’ comments Olga Laminskaya, Head of the Technical Regulation and Standardization Department at EkoNiva.

Organic agriculture is a complex form of agriculture, in which the central place is occupied by a closed process of the circulation of substances within agricultural production. The production processes here are regulated by strict rules and regulations. For example, the use of chemical plant protection products is strictly prohibited, and animals should live in the most natural environment.

The farm "Savinskaya Niva" is located near Savino village, Kaluga region, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. From 2012 to 2015, the farm underwent a conversion period from traditional farming to organic farming, and in 2016 shipments of the first organic products — peas and buckwheat - began. Now EkoNiva produces organic raw milk, cereals, legumes, oilseeds, etc. here.

Savinskaya Niva is also certified for compliance with Russian standards of organic production. In addition, the company is a member of the National Organic Union and is a member of the International Federation of Ecological Agriculture (IFOAM).

EkoNiva Group is actively working on the development of the organic products market in Russia. Since 2019, the company's portfolio of finished dairy products has been supplemented by the EkoNiva Organic line. Organic milk from EkoNiva is bottled on a separate line of the group's own plant in Kaluga кegion. This company also has certificates of compliance with European and Russian standards of organic production.
