Milk prices in Rondônia ranged from R$1.90 to R$2.70
The weekly survey by Emater-RO recorded only a small change in Rondônia’s average chilled-milk price during September. The figure rose from R$2.10 per litre in the week of September 7th to 11th to R$2.17 between September 14th and 18th.
The mid-month increase was about 3.33%. In the following period, from September 21st to 25th, the state average fell to R$2.11, a decline of roughly 2.76%. The month therefore ended just R$0.01 above its opening level, representing a variation of 0.48% between the first and last weeks.
Prices reported by municipalities differed more sharply than the state-wide average. During the week of September 14th to 18th, Ouro Preto do Oeste recorded the highest price at R$2.70 per litre, while Pimenta Bueno had the lowest, at R$1.90. The gap between the two municipalities was R$0.80.
In the final week covered by the survey, Ouro Preto do Oeste again registered the highest figure, although its price had fallen to R$2.50 per litre. Alta Floresta D’Oeste recorded the lowest price at R$1.90, leaving a difference of R$0.60 between the two locations.
The maximum municipal price thus dropped by R$0.20 from one of those weeks to the next. That decrease was larger than the R$0.06 reduction in the state average over the same comparison. The R$0.60 municipal spread in the final week was also substantially wider than the R$0.01 difference between the state average at the start and end of September.
The survey’s accompanying assessment states that the amount received by producers can vary considerably within the state, depending on the region and trading conditions. The figures were produced by eDairyNews using information published by P1.
