Kyrgyzstan Exports Nearly 20,000 Tons of Dairy Products in First Half of 2026

Kyrgyzstan exported a total of 19,916 tons of dairy products during the first half of 2026, as stated by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan. This figure includes various dairy items such as 2,339 tons of ice cream, 674.54 tons of cheese, and 197.77 tons of fermented dairy products, which include traditional products like kumis and kurut. Additionally, 189 tons of whey and 100.56 tons of butter were exported.

Alongside dairy, Kyrgyzstan also exported 228.84 tons of natural honey within the same timeframe. The Ministry highlighted the consistent external demand for Kyrgyz dairy and beekeeping products, reinforcing the government's strategy to enhance agricultural processing and boost the export of competitive food products. This shift is part of Kyrgyzstan's broader aim to move from raw commodity sales to processed food exports.

Access to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market has facilitated this transition, offering tariff-free trade opportunities with neighboring member states. Concurrently, the Kyrgyz government has expanded concessional financing for livestock breeding, agricultural equipment, and food processing to further bolster export-oriented production and enhance the competitiveness of local manufacturers.
