Krasnodar region increased the export of ice cream by 20% in 2020
At the end of last year, the supply of ice cream to foreign markets in monetary terms exceeded $4.2 million.
‘Every year, the volume of deliveries to foreign countries increases. By the end of 2020, more than 1.3 tons of product worth more than $4.2 million were exported. This is 20% more than a year earlier,’ said the vice-governor.
Andrey Korobka added that over the past five years, the number of countries importing Kuban ice cream has doubled. Today, it is bought by 20 countries, including China, the United States, Israel, Greece, Germany, Vietnam, Bulgaria and Canada.
Export deliveries are organized by Korenovka Factory of real ice cream. Last year, the company signed an agreement to increase competitiveness to receive an investment loan in the amount of 1.2 billion rubles to further increase production.
According to the deputy head of the region, in 2020 it was possible to increase significantly the production of ice cream. For 11 months, its output amounted to 47.5 thousand tons, an increase of 12% compared to 2019. The product is produced by 4 large enterprises and a number of small ones.
‘In the coming years, we expect an increase in ice cream production, including the plans of one of our largest enterprises to build a new factory. This will expand the product's presence not only in the domestic market, but also increase the volume of exports, open new markets for it,’ concluded Andrey Korobka.
As part of the implementation of the national project "International Cooperation and Export", the region will increase the export of agricultural products to $ 3.7 billion by 2024. In 2020, exports of agricultural products amounted to more than $ 2.7 billion, with a planned figure of $ 2.5 billion.
