Director of the Research Institute of Child nutrition Sergey Simonenko said that it is necessary to balance the amount of products of animal and plant origin in the daily diet of children, writes The DairyNews.

The expert said that in Russia, from 3 to 5% of school-age children have lactase deficiency.

Sergey Simonenko noted that this topic is very relevant for the modern market. Therefore, it is important to develop low-lactose and lactose-free products for children.

‘It should be noted that in Russia only a few manufacturers are engaged in the creation of such products for children. The Research Institute of Child nutrition also does this,’ the expert concluded.
