Chairman of the Committee of the Agro-industrial Complex of Kursk region Ivan Muzalev said that in April 2021, milk prices increased by 3% compared to the same period in 2020, writes The DairyNews.

‘According to operational data, as of April 1, 2021, more than 50 thousand tons of milk were received for processing, which is 27% more than in the same period in 2020. The average purchase price of 1 liter of milk of the 1st grade excluding VAT is 25.71 rubles. In general, it varies from 23 to 31.60 rubles,’ said Ivan Muzalev.

He also noted that in January-February 2021, the production of liquid processed milk, including milk for baby food, increased by 3.7 thousand tons, which is 13% more than in the same period in 2020. The growth in the production of cottage cheese amounted to 0.6 thousand, which is 41.3% more than last year.

Ivan Muzalev added that at the moment in Kursk region there is a slight decline in the production of cheese, butter, fermented dairy products and condensed milk. According to him, this is due to a decrease in consumer demand.
