The abnormally hot weather made minor adjustments to them this summer, so that an emergency regime had to be introduced in a number of municipalities, but the region's farmers were able to grow major crops on an area of 817 thousand hectares,’ the speaker said.

The basis for the development of dairy cattle breeding is the preservation and increase of the number of cows. Milk production in agricultural organizations is expected to reach 730 thousand tons, which is 2.4% more than last year, milk yield per cow is at least 8000 kg. The number of dairy cows today is 91.4 thousand, the figure has increased by 1.5% compared to last year.

Farms in Orichi district, livestock complex in Uni, Kotelnich districts were put into operation. Dairy farms, which will be put into operation in 2022, are being built in Yurya, Malmyzh, Kumeny, Sanchursk, Urzhum districts. With the commissioning, they will provide more than 4,000 new places for cattle.

Kirov pedigree cattle are also in demand. Over 3 cattle units of dairy and meat purpose have been sold in 9 months. Of these, more than 74% are outside the region: to Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Bashkortostan, Rostov, Nizhny Novgorod, Kostroma and Krasnodar regions.

5 enterprises are engaged in pig breeding, their livestock numbers 232 thousand, which is 18% more than at the beginning of the year. According to preliminary data, the figure for the year will be at the level of 245 thousand in farms of all categories. Four poultry farms are engaged in the production of table eggs. According to preliminary results, egg production for 2021 will amount to 621 million eggs for all categories of farms.

‘We do not expect a shortage of these products, despite the outbreak of avian flu at the Zuevskaya poultry farm and the destruction of its livestock,’ Alexey Kotlyachkov stressed. ‘This year, the production facilities of Kirovo-Chepetsk and Kostinskaya poultry farms have been reconstructed and modernized, a poultry meat processing workshop has been built. When the project reaches full capacity, 474 jobs will be created, and poultry meat production will amount to about 27 thousand tons.

The head of the industry especially noted that the situation in the food market of the region is controlled, weekly monitoring of prices is conducted. The region is provided with food in full, there are no interruptions in the supply of any types of products.

‘In 2021, state support for the agro-industrial complex amounted to 2.8 billion rubles, state support for technical and technological modernization increased significantly, state support for grain producers in the amount of 226 million rubles was provided for the first time, 300 million rubles were allocated in December to reimburse part of the cost for purchasing feed for dairy cattle. By the end of the year, state support funds will be sent to recipients in full,’ summed up the head of the industry.
