In 2020, the volume of milk production in Turkey amounted to a record 23.3 million tons

The Federal Center Agroexport reported that the volume of production of livestock products in Turkey in comparison with crop production is significantly less, writes The DairyNews.

According to the organization, the main direction is the production of milk, the volume of which in 2020 reached a record value of 23.3 million tons.

The structure of milk production is dominated by cow milk - 21.2 million tons, which is 90.9% of the total volume. At the same time, sheep milk (6.6%) and goat milk (2.5%) occupy a small share in production.

In addition, Turkey has been producing meat. In this sector, the largest growth last year was provided by beef (+7.1%) and lamb (+4.5%).
