Ilya Ragozin: The amount of high-quality cheeses in Russia is still negligible

Moloko Group owns its own breeding farm located in Kaluga region. The company focuses on the full production cycle – from the field to the finished product and is the winner of the award "Best Cheese of Russia-2020" of the famous gastronomic festival "Cheese! Feast! Peace!"

‘For me, the dairy business is the main activity. We see significant prospects for the development of the industry, so we plan to build two breeding farms for 3,000 head of Jersey cattle and two processing plants for the production of Parmesan and Gorgonzola,’ - said the head of the enterprise.

He stressed, that ‘despite the fact that the supply of cheeses in Russia is increasing today, the amount of European-quality cheeses in the country is negligible.’

‘Due to the lack of a culture of cheese consumption and understanding of the importance of nutrition and digestibility of the product, our citizens do not understand the difference. People need to be educated!’ believes Ilya Ragozin. At the same time, the absence of cheese production, which has undergone a stage of evolution over decades and centuries, allows us to actively develop the domestic market of high-quality natural cheeses.

"Dairy Business: Finance, Technology and Marketing" is an industry conference aimed at informing and solving the problems of future and existing milk processors.
