Hatsun Agro Achieves Record ₹3,000 Crore in Quarterly Sales
Hatsun Agro Product Ltd (HAP), the leading private sector dairy enterprise in India, achieved a significant milestone in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2027. For the period ending June 30, the company reported that its revenue from operations increased by 19.3% year-on-year, reaching ₹3,093.38 crore (approximately $371 million). This marks the first occasion in the company's history that quarterly sales have exceeded ₹3,000 crore, averaging over ₹1,000 crore per month.
Despite the impressive revenue growth, Hatsun Agro's net profit remained nearly unchanged at ₹133.69 crore, compared to ₹135 crore in Q1 FY26. The slight decrease in profitability is attributed to increased operational and input costs, particularly higher procurement expenses paid to dairy farmers and logistical overheads in regional distribution.
The company's chairman, R.G. Chandramogan, highlighted the role of HAP’s diversified product portfolio and robust retail network in achieving this sales milestone. Key consumer brands such as Arokya (fluid milk), Hatsun (curd, butter, and ghee), and Ibaco along with Arun Icecreams experienced solid volume growth in core markets in South India and new expansion areas.
Hatsun Agro's direct farmgate procurement model has been a critical factor in its operational scale. The company procures all its raw milk directly from over 300,000 dairy farmers, avoiding reliance on third-party middlemen. With more than 3,100 village-level collection centers in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, the company ensures a reliable supply of raw milk while supporting farmer profitability through sustainable initiatives.
In addition to its procurement strategy, Hatsun Agro's investment in direct-to-consumer distribution points and exclusive brand outlets has maintained product availability during peak demand periods, particularly in the summer. The company is optimistic about sustaining its growth trajectory through the remainder of FY27, capitalizing on strong brand equity and expanding cold-chain infrastructure.
