This was told about by Alexey Bogdanov, Head of the main department of foreign trade activity of the Ministry of agriculture and food of the Republic of Belarus, during his presentation at the V Export forum "Dairy Belarus", writes The DairyNews from the event.

According to the expert, Belarusian exports decreased by $127 million or by 6% last year. The reason was not only the restrictions of the Rossekhoznadzor, but also the decline in the global price situation. The export of dairy products in real terms is steadily growing from year to year.

– The larger part of exports from Belarus – 78% – falls on the Russian Federation, but the share of this market decreased by 12.4%. The main concentration of deliveries falls on the Central Federal district and Northwestern Federal district, – added A. Bogdanov.

Speaking about the implementation of forecast balances, Mr. Bogdanov stressed that 617 thousand tons of products were undersupplied to Russia in 2018 according to the forecast.

– The introduction of restrictions is regular; the current trends indicate the need to diversify exports, including powdered dairy products. The volume of deliveries of finished products to Russia will be increased, – said A. Bogdanov.

The expert noted that Belarus is developing new markets – exports to foreign countries increased 3 times to 119 million dollars. The supply of skim milk powder increased by 5.2% and whey - by 7%. The most volume deliveries of skim milk powder fell on China, Georgia and Japan. The champion in the import of Belarusian skim milk powder was China with a share of 57%.

The leader in the export of Belarusian butter, according to A. Bogdanov, is Turkey.

On April 17, the V Export forum "Dairy Belarus" started in Minsk. The event is attended by owners, directors and chief specialists of plants – more than 80% of the dairy industry in Belarus. More than 300 experts gathered at one site. The Forum will present the latest scientific and engineering developments from global companies – new products, automation, whey processing, innovations in packaging.
