Dairy Index DIA exceeded 33 rub/kg

According to the application Milk Price Index DIA, the weighted average price of milk in Russia increased by0.75% to 29.39 rubles/kg (about 0.35 euro)/kg, which is 11.9% higher than the price in early January 2021. Prices for raw milk decreased in Tula and Moscow regions. The increase in milk prices was observed in Orel, Yaroslavl and Novosibirsk regions.

The import price index increased by 4% to 43.91 rubles (about 0.52 euro)/kg, compared to early January 2021, the indicator is 25.1% higher. A key factor in the growth of import prices was the increase in prices for exchange-traded dairy products, an additional factor in the growth of the indicator was the weakening of the ruble. At the BUCE auction, the price of skimmed milk powder increased by 17.3%.At the Trigona Dairy Trade auction, the prices of skimmed milk powder and whey powder increased; the price of cheese decreased, the price of butter remained at the level of the previous auction. The price of butter, taking into account the weakening of the ruble compared to the previous auction, increased by 1.14% to 496 rubles (about 5.90 euro)/kg, the price of cheddar increased by 0.07% to 395 rubles (about 4.70 euro)/kg, the price of skimmed milk powder increased by 5.7% to 294.2 rubles (about 3.50 euro)/kg. The price of whey powder increased by 9.3% to 107.6 rubles (about 1.28 euro)/kg.
At the 299th Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction on January 4, 2022, the price index for dairy products began to rise again after a decline at the end of December 2021.
The import price of a pair of skimmed milk powder + butter increased by 8.5% to 53.12 rubles (about 0.63 euros)/kg (1 kg in terms of milk). The import price of a pair of cheese + whey increased by 0.08% to 37.52 rubles (about 0.45 euro)/kg. The price of whole milk powder remained at the level of 37.87 (about 0.45 euro)/kg.
