Cegalac and Alilácteos to Boost Local Dairy Production in Aguascalientes

The state of Aguascalientes is set to witness a significant boost in its dairy sector as Cegalac and Alilácteos plan to produce cheese, yogurt, and cream, raising local milk purchases to 200,000 liters monthly. This effort aims to expand social nutrition programs by incorporating dairy derivatives in schools and communities.

Cegalac, a sister company of Alilácteos, will use its technical capabilities to produce high-nutritional-quality food products. The upcoming products include 'cheese fingers' tailored for children in educational institutions, along with natural and ultra-pasteurized creams and yogurt, slated for gradual introduction from the coming year.

Currently, Alilácteos sources approximately 35,000 liters of milk weekly from around 15 local producers. The new project will significantly increase demand for raw milk, benefiting local dairy farmers by providing a stable market and enhanced economic stability.

The integration of Cegalac and Alilácteos in processing dairy derivatives is expected to strengthen the regional dairy market, offering high-value biological proteins to vulnerable populations. This initiative also aims to stabilize the local livestock value chain amidst price fluctuations.

According to Carlos Alberto Gutiérrez de Luna, Chairman of the Board of Alilácteos, the project will enhance food security and act as a development driver for the primary sector in Aguascalientes. The projected demand growth is anticipated to provide a direct commercial channel for local farmers.
