Analysts predict an increase in exports of dairy products from Russia in 2021
‘In the context of slow devaluation, we have all the necessary prerequisites for further stable growth of dairy exports in the next 2-3 years: raw materials production is steadily growing, new processing capacities are being put in operation, the list of open countries is actively expanding and administrative barriers are being reduced, an increasing number of companies are showing interest in exports and gradually gaining experience in organizing the supply of their products to the world market,’ Alexey Gruzdev added.
The leading buyers of dairy products from Russia are the states of the post-Soviet space. Thus, exports to Kazakhstan in 2020 increased by 8.7%, to $ 132 million. Deliveries to Belarus increased by 7.5%, to $ 45 million. Exports to Ukraine in January-December 2020 are estimated at $ 45 million (+18%). Such data were given in the Federal Center for the Development of export of agricultural products of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
In terms of expanding the geography of supplies in recent years, Russia has gained access to the markets of more than 15 countries, ten of which are among the top 20 largest importers of dairy products - Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria and Egypt. In general, at the end of 2020, Russian agricultural exports reached record levels. Russia exported 79 million tons of agricultural products worth $ 30.7 billion, which is 20% more than in 2019.
